The Centrality of Discipleship in Teenage Ministry
Daniel Arcilla

Teen ministry in a post-modern, even post-Christian society can lead churches to swing to extremes of programming approaches: From a total immersion in popular youth trends accompanied by segregation from adult church members, to an avoidance of modern trends and adoption of omni-aged, family-based youth ministry. Regardless of your church's programming approach, it is not necessarily this external approach that makes for biblical youth ministry but rather the ministry’s base mission. In this session, we will discover that while a church's involvement with external style, culture, and programming may vary, the essentials and nature of discipleship must not - since they compose the substance of not only teenage ministry, but church body ministry in general, underpinning not only all youth activities, but also guiding the training and maintaining of youth ministry volunteers.

Teaching Big Truths to Little People: The Gospel Impact of Nursery Ministry
Janice Baker

In this seminar we will be discussing how to teach little people under the age of three big Bible truths in simple understandable terms. Because God promises in Isaiah 55:11 that His Word will not return empty, we know these truths impressed upon their hearts and minds may someday help to bring our little ones to respond to Jesus in faith.

Small Group Leading: Gospel Application through Individual Relationships
Ryan Elliott

The group presentation of the gospel to children can be further empowered by leading small groups in the interpretation and application of the lesson.  This seminar will highlight the importance of small group leadership in three primary ways: 1) It pictures the body of Christ: allowing all members of the ministry team to use their gifts for gospel application through leading small group discussions. 2) It fosters deeper relationships between children and ministry staff allowing for staff to become knowledgeable and prayerful regarding each child’s specific needs. 3) It allows the ministry team to assist children in personally applying their weekly memorization from the Word of God.

How the Church Helps Parents: Developing a Biblical Vision for Children’s Ministry

This seminar will give a biblical vision for structuring a children’s ministry with the goal of reaching the next generation for the glory of Christ.

Being Fruitful in Your Ministry to Children
Thomas Kawazoe

It is God’s own heart to glorify and exalt Himself in the coming generations. With this in mind, this seminar will look at some practical ways we can excel in our efforts and labor to love and minister to children. What is our goal and mindset? How can we be more sensitive to what we do, and don't do; what we say and don't say? How can we more effectively work with those around us? What are some tools/resources available for family devotionals or study times? And what does it look like to shepherd and lead others?

Teaching the Bible to Elementary School Age Kids

Thomas Kawazoe

We all have a responsibility to teach the next generation about our great God. We will look together at how we make the wonderful truths of the Bible understandable to children, without watering down God's Word. We will explore how to go beyond just the cool stories and teaching children the “facts” and delve into looking at the passage in context, helping the children to observe for themselves, asking good questions, responding to what they say and ask, interpreting Scripture accurately, and ultimately helping the children apply God's Word in their everyday life. This will include utilizing a variety of tools including visuals, games, stories, etc. but ultimately growing in our own love for God and His Word.

Communicating out of Grace and Truth with our Teens
Greg Reed

The Bible places an awesome priority on our words: “Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing” (Prov. 12:18). The power of blessing or destruction are contained in our words. Our communication is one litmus test of whether our relationships are growing together in grace or are pulling apart in anger. The Bible reveals not only the source of our communication struggles, but provides practical tools for change so that our words reflect Christ’s fullness of grace and truth. This seminar will equip you to biblically evaluate your communication in your home and replace destructive words with those that build up.

Hiding God’s Word in Your Heart: the Importance of Bible Memorization

Billy Manapat

We are commanded to teach our children the Word of God so that they “might fear the LORD your God, to keep all His statues and His commandments which I command you” (Deut 6:2) Even at a young age, God’s Word has both infinite value, and supernatural power to change lives. One of the best ways to utilize God’s Word is through memorization. The purpose of this seminar is show the infinite value of Scripture, and why memorizing the Bible is important for both believer and unbeliever.
